Add a Play
PLAYs are set up in the ALL PLAYS portfolio, which is listed under the NOT LINKED pages in the site edit navigation.
To add a play:
Do not click the + at the top of the list. Instead, you should DUPLICATE an existing play item and edit from there. This will help you maintain consistent formatting across all play pages.
1. Click the three dots (•••) next to the PLAY you want to duplicate, then choose SETTINGS.
2. Click DUPLICATE, and then CONFIRM in the popup box.
3. Once duplicated, you will need to update the TITLE and URL SLUG for the new play item. Scroll down to find the new play item. Go to (•••) for this item and click SETTINGS. Update the info, and then click SAVE.
4. Now, click on the new play item and select EDIT in the top left corner of the page preview.
5. Once in EDIT mode, you can make update all the existing text and images for the new play item, and add additional content as well. Some examples follow:
To update the header image, select the PENCIL icon and then BACKGROUND.
You can add additional content blocks – like a line to separate two blocks of copy, an image or a button – to any block by clicking on the TEARDROP-like insert point .
You can also add additional content section blocks by clicking the (+).
For example, to add an additional TEXT SECTION, click the (+) and choose TEXT to see pre-formatted sections. The section I have used for text on your play pages, with minor modifications, is highlighted above.
Galleries can also be added, and are simple to update. The PHOTO icon allows you to add, reorder or remove photos. The PENCIL icon opens the gallery formatting options. The UP and DOWN arrows move the section above or below other sections on the page. And the TRASH icon deletes the section.
Each play has a PRESS QUOTE as part of the bottom-most section.
When you’re done editing and updating your new play page, click DONE and then SAVE in the top left corner.
6. Now that you have added a new play item, you need to add it to the list on the PLAYS page:
6a. Go back to PAGES via the link in the top left of the edit navigation. Click on PLAYS and then on EDIT.
6b. Find the place where your new play should go (currently, all plays are alphabetized) and add in a SPACER block and a TEXT block. Enter the new play’s information.
6c. Select the TITLE and add a LINK to the new play’s page. You must use “/all-plays/” before the new play’s URL slug. Be sure to click APPLY in the hyperlink dialogue popup. Once your new play listing is complete, click DONE and then SAVE.
Now your new play entry is complete!
